If it's coming out of the top of the cap, its maybe slightly over filled. And no, there is no sure fire way to know when it's correctly filled, other than it doesn't come out of the cap.
The little sight glass and plunger affair onto, is not really accurate at all.
So it's best guess, followed by mop up with rag/ top up bit by bit.
As long as it's not leaking anywhere else, then you are good to go.
Where did you buy the pressure switches? SNGB?
