My boot has a minor leak. Traced it to water seeping through the seal that surrounds the boot vent. This is the vent that sits behind the rear bumper on each side of the car.
Happens both when parked and when driven. Not seen or read of leaks in this area before. I assume it's a case of the gasket (BEC8464) failing. Anyone else had this or know how best to resolve it? Do I just need to buy and fit a new gasket or does it suggest another issue?
I have owned the car for 18 months now and check for leaks in the boot whenever it is out in the rain. Yes, I am paranoid. Check my footwells even more often! This is the first time I have found water and I drive it regularly in the rain. The vent has remained undisturbed during my period of ownership.

Certainly a strange one.
Not heard of this one, maybe wipe some clear silicon round the edge of it to see if you can seal it ??
