The signal, or one of them needed for the gearbox to operate correctly, as you say will be sent by the gearbox relay, this could be a bad signal simply because of a dirty relay. Was this and the other relays on the same block ( which would have originally been on the bulkhead under the bonnet ) retained in the harness ??

Hi donkeyotty, Yes all the relays were kept, I will try replacing the gearbox relay tomorrow. I am hoping to get across to Wales next weekend in it. We have booked a few days at Lake Bala.

Got to be worth a check, make sure all the terminals are clean as well.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I have finally got round to trying to sort my gearbox again. It does appear to change OK in sport mode. The temperature of the oil is fine, I have tried changing the gearbox ECU (DBC 6162) I intend to swop out the Gearbox Decoder Module Relay ECU (DBC5082). Does anyone know where this is located?
Best Regards, Gerard.
