Cheers mate, yeah I did a quick search too last night and saw there were some available, but want around $300 USD for the damn things!

Will need to shop around some more.

Righto, managed to find a kit on the bay of evil things for around $30 rather than $300 lol. Will continue to investigate until it arrives, just in case it's a hose, line or caliper etc

Going by the information I have on hand, this doesn't sound like an issue with the boost system and is confined to the brake hydraulics.

It will be the process of elimination as always.
It’s possible to have more than one fault too.

Post the link to the parts you found too. Others will need them too for sure.

Are you loose green mineral oil or Dot 4?
The “power booster” cylinder can leak too.
Check the brake pedal in the footwell fit any green fluid.

Hey Naki,

Got the part from this chap: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/robert8310

I don't know if he has any more for sale, but people could contact him. Kit No. was SP7761 (which is a Lucas No.).

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-XJ-19 ... 2749.l2648

Taken a look in the pedal box and foot well and haven't seen any obvious signs of leaking there, but will take a look at that I dare say when I get the M/C off.

Definitely losing DOT4, as I fill up the reservoir, pump the brakes (pedal goes to the floor) a few times and I notice the level is lower. Just need to find the puddle!

Yup, it's the process of elimination, all the fun stuff! I'll use this as an opportunity to go over most of the brake system and get it operating nicely.

Ok good stuff.
It does sound like god master cylinder has gone. Not uncommon for the early cars.
Let us know how you get on with the rebuild.
I haven’t done one yet.
