INSURANCE PICTURES

Postby donkeyotty » Wed Oct 10, 2012 4:57 pm

Just got my insurance with Adrian Flux renewed, £192 fully comp inc full breakdown, 3000 pa, cheapest I could find. £2000 agreed valuation subject to 7 photos. Thought I would put the best on here just to balance out all the rusty pictures ;)

We are banned by age  Only pre 90 cars, they are having a themed fancy dress do. I am waiting for confirmation of the Cheshire meet that was mentioned.

Naki, Are my pictures getting any better ?

That is a lovely car, that looks a lot more valuable that it is insured for. They are such superb bargains these cars, I really should stop grumbling to myself about the rust I have to deal with on my car, when the cars are such amazing value really. I wonder if in 10-20 years time we will look back and find it hard to believe these cars were ever this cheap? Your engine bay is so clean, must have been a lot of work. A car to be very proud of.

Thanks John, The pictures are, as ever, flattering, she does have problems but nothing that cannot be sorted. The engine bay was just done a bit at a time with spray engine cleaner, left to soak, brushed off, then wiped clean. I also replace as many nuts and bolts as possible with stainless and that does make a big difference.

I believe these cars are getting betting looking with the passage of time, bit like me really

Nice one Don, looking very smart indeed, especially the engine bay. It would seem that they do things a lot different in Wales Boyo, you have a lot of the same bits and pieces that I have under the bonnet but they seem to be on the other side of the motor in your case.

warning- honest opinion follows! ;)

as good as can be expected for a camera phone don, but there is only so much you can do with one.
there is no substitute for using a real camera am afraid.
camera phones will get there one day, but for now they always have this grey hazy look, and are never that sharp
so you can never really see the true detail. and its all about the detail for me. i have been guilt of doing the odd snap on my camera phone too,m but its a last resort when nothing else is to hand.
I use a Canon G10 for my car snaps generally.
yes thats rights, a compact camera, but it is still a proper camera. it was a top end compact from a few years ago, at £420. has since been superseded by the G11 and G12 now. but mine still does the business

You should have seen the ones I took with my digital camera, I just binned them all. :( Admittedly I do need to upgrade but there is always something else to buy.(like a/c evaporators ;) ) I still use my old Canon EOS1000F 35mm for a lot of shots, it is a brilliant camera and I would feel guilty replacing it with an all singing and dancing digital. ;) that's my excuse anyway
