Fuse Box

Postby Kevin » Wed Jun 09, 2021 3:36 pm

My front passenger side window has stopped working and having researched on-line dry solder joints on the fuse box are prime suspect. I have managed to remove the multi pin plugs at the rear of the fuse box but two brown wires at the top and bottom of the fuse box are not moving...any thoughts ?? can I cut the wires and re-connect successfully ?? I intend re-soldering all the solder joints, if this doesn't work then presumably dismantling the door innards is next ! Grateful for any thoughts....kevin

Hi Kevin , you dont disconnect the brown wires from the fuse box , all of the brown wires are connected together via a single ring connector about 8" away from the fuse box & is held on by a single nut or bolt that is covered by a rubber terminal cover , so no need to cut the wires at all . Hi Paul, thank you for your response, I hadn't thought about following the wire(s) the other way, I will take your advice Saturday....then onto the soldering.

Cheers
