Int. questions: warped door trims and rear air vent

I've had the wood door trims out of my for a while, getting refinished. They have bowed a bit, so they sit proud of the upper door panel after reinstalling. Looking for any ideas on straightening them without damaging the finish. Most of the online tips would not work - Such as soaking the wood in water. I'll probably try adjusting the clips slightly so they are pulled in a little more. Or put some heavy cloth over the trim and try clamping between boards.
Also, I can't seem to remove the rear air vent/cigar lighter piece from the center console of a parts car. Is there a trick to releasing it or the cigar lighter? The parts car is '93. Thanks for any input.
