CPS

Postby Jaguarxj40 » Sun Jun 09, 2019 10:51 pm

Right then, i think that i need a new cps but where is the best place to buy them from. Are they really well over a 100 odd quid for my model year, 1990 4.0.
Any recommendations please :D

Gary.

Yeah the price of a genuine Jaguar sensor is a bit stiff , though when it comes to things like the oxygen sensor i wouldn't buy a cheap replacement , only a genuine one will do for me but i'm not sure about the cps , maybe the cheap pattern ones are good enough ?

Might be worth trying considering the price differential , a quick look for dbc11501 [ if that's the one you need ] turns up a few at a lot less ,

Personally i bit the bullet and bought a genuine one as a spare [which i carry always] , chances are they're both made in the same place but it makes me feel better having it :)

86-90 use DBC2139, with the big round plug.

£170.29+vat.

Or buy the cheap one and swap the plugs.

Never had a problem with an aftermarket ones, all my Jags running one. As usual, always have a spare one in the boot and you'll be fine.

Hi Derek, i'm inclined to agree with you, been bitten by the cheap aftermarket parts before but 170 quid is a bit steep but i'm going to need the reliability, its very tempting though just to try one but the plug in both the links is not the same as mine, i have the large round barrel plug.

Thank you for taking the time to reply and help me make a decision.

Best regards
Gary.

HI Naki, Katar,

Derek has made my mind up for me, i'm going to get a branded part and thanks Naki for the part number.

Just two questions on this topic... Do manuals use the same one? And do they change with the 4.0 engined cars?
