X300 and XJ40 door hinges

Postby Gabriel » Mon Apr 23, 2018 6:04 pm

Does anyone know if the XJ40 door hinges will bolt up to an X300? I know the mounting points are in the same place on the body side, but are they the same on the door's end?

Can you give us more details about your car please. And are these the front or rear doors?

All of them, in general. Wondering whether one can get rid of the weak x300/x308 door limiter by using the xj40 hinges which had a limiting stop built in.

Its not the limiter that is weak on an x300, mine are fine, just the door metal fails eventually and then the limiter fails too. I've replaced limiter on mine and used bigger spacers on the door body side and its fine now.

Yes they do Gabriel however its the striker that's different. I re-drilled the B Post, used the original striker bolt and then used the Torx bolts to fill the where the original Ford door catch screwed in, then mig'd them to ensure safety.

Hope that all makes sense.
