95 3.2 hesitation at low rpm

Postby Ceramicolive » Wed Nov 20, 2019 2:30 pm

I've a little issue with my 3.2 which started last week, I went out to the garage and started the car it coughed and spluttered a bit which is unusual for it as it normally starts up on the button, anyway we went out in it but it became immediately obvious it wasn't happy, struggles to rev and almost stalls between idle and 2/2500 rpm but seems to pick up fine after that. It's a manual so I am able to stop it stalling by dipping the clutch.

To the experts out there or anyone who has suffered similar symptoms what should I check first?

CPS, engine temp sensor, coil packs?

Coils, oil in spark plugs, TPS out of adjustment, fuel pressure, could be a lot of things. Plug in OBD scanner first, see what it shows.

Thanks, I think it's probably wise to invest in a scanner, do you have a link to one?

Nope, the only cheap one that do is the Delphi one but it's way more complicated to setup and operate and of course require a laptop with serial, etc.

Ok. That’s what I assumed. I don’t know why SRS & ABS seem to require more computer power to compute!
