There are lots of parts for these that are NLA.
There’s little incentive for people to sell these cheap small parts, that won’t sell in big numbers.
You did well to find one at all.

Very cool that the toolkit was still in the boot.
Usually with a second hand Jaguar XJ40 those kits dissapear with previous owners :)

I appear to have everything, tool kit, handbook and all the service books/folder.
I’m still very pleased with my purchase!!

Dropped the car off at the garage on Thursday for it’s service and to look at the braking issues.
I’ve also asked them to clean the throttle body (it was suggested as a worthy task) and generally have a good crawl all over it.
I’m not sure what the braking issue will be but, I’ve decided that it’s going to be expensive. Working on that logic, when the big bill lands, it was expected and, if it’s not a big bill, what a lovely surprise - and I don’t seem to get too many of them!

Btw, your Daimler has (should have) a limited slip Diff.
So make sure the Diff oil you get is rated for LSD.

Yes, I didn’t actually know that but, when I finally found the correct grade, I guessed it had an LSD.

Odd really, I’ll probably drive the car like Miss Daisy and is give my hind teeth to have a LSD in some of my other cars!!

The cars still in the garage. Nothing tragic but, although it got through the MOT (?) it appears nearly all the brakes were seized/binding so they’re all being taken apart and sorted out before they continue with the ABS/brake warning light issues.
Frustrating as I wanted to go out cruising this weekend with her!!

You have done the right thing getting all these things checked. It’s better to find out this way, rather than seeing smoke coming off the wheels at 70mph down the motorway.
It’s a typical issue for a example not being used for a long time.
It’s possible you may require replacement callipers, if the pistons are rusted/ damaged.

Do all Daimlers have LSD? I did not know that.

Export "Daimlers" (VDP's) don't have limited slip diffs, at least mine doesn't.

They seem to be ok as the garage are plodding away and haven’t asked me to locate anything for them yet.
If I do need callipers, are they easy enough to get or, will it be easier to get mine refurbished?
