This is the alarm receiver box that lives in the overhead console, the white dome is not a light it is a signal receiver.

You may well have a after market security system fitted. You need to look for out of place wiring, fuses and a siren. Difficult to help you from afar, especially without pictures.

Below the text box where you write your reply, there'll be a tab labelled 'attachments' - that's where you add your photos (or you can just drag and drop them into the text box)

I tried to load photos taken with my iPhone but get a message: ERROR Invalid file extension: IMG_1807.HEIC
I have never seen that file extension for any of my iPhone photos before. Meanwhile, I see no sign of the alarm receiver box you show in your post.

Newer I-phones save pics in this .HEIC format. To let others view your pictures (on a forum such as this), you have to change a setting on your phone.

How can I stop my iPhone saving photos in HEIC format?

Open the Settings app and scroll down until you see Camera. Tap it and then tap on Formats.

You need to change it from High Efficiency to Most Compatible and then it will save the photos as .jpg

If you email a .HEIC it will automatically convert to a .jpg

So if that receiver is not there it probably has another system fitted as I said before, you need to find and disconnect it.

I made this change and tried to reload my photos here but got the same error message. Jim

I finally got a new iPhone to replace my antique one & now images are converted to .jpg. Let me know if you have any ideas from these photos. Jim

I have nothing that looks like this in my overhead console. See the photos I downloaded only a short time ago. Jim

So it looks to be a dealer fit ( the non OE valet switch gives it away ) genuine accessory which without the remotes is fairly useless. There will be a control box and a power supply somewhere that needs to be found and disconnected. You need to remove the knee bolsters and look under the dash to start with.
