Re: KMH to MPH Instrument Cluster Swap

Interesting the dials being in Km only when UK cars have both Kms and miles, but I suppose continental driving is a real possibility when you live in the UK. I don’t suppose they’d ever anticipated that Japanese cars would ever return to these shores! I remember the Lockwood dial kits from my boy ra...

Re: KMH to MPH Instrument Cluster Swap

Ah right, so the switch applies only to the values displayed by the trip computer, ie. range, distance etc.

Both our U.K. spec cars have miles and Km scales on the speedo. I wasn’t aware that non-U.K. cars were different in this respect.

Re: KMH to MPH Instrument Cluster Swap

I don’t know if this might be of assistance, but unusually, on the XJ40 there’s a switch on the right hand side of the instrument cluster marked “km/miles” - presumably for continental driving? I’ve never tried switching between the two and I’m not with the car just now but someone else will know if...

Re: JLR CLASSIC WORKSHOP MEET- XJ 50th anniversary celebration

We enjoyed a brilliant day yesterday, arriving home at 1am this morning. We travelled in convoy with my cousin in his X308. Great to have the weather on our side and what a beautiful selection of cars on display! We paid a visit to the site at Brown’s Lane on the return journey. We hadn’t confirmed ...

Re: Collecting accessories

Well done Naki, I saw one of those boot liners for sale a couple of years ago and haven’t seen one since. I have a set of the rubber interior mats. I love all the period accessories. I recently bought a Hella warning lamp as featured in the 93 accessory catalogue, but I’m not sure where Jaguar recom...

Non-return fuel valve

Hi all, we’ve enjoyed 4 years of ownership of our Sovereign, however we’ve always suffered from poor starting which appears to be due to a loss of fuel pressure whilst the car sits overnight. After somewhere between 5-10 seconds of cranking, the car will start and runs fine. The fuel filter was repl...

Re: CPS wanted

Is the crankshaft sensor (EBC1253) applicable across all engine variants?

Someone suggested that the CPS from an X300 might fit - has anyone tried this?

XJ40's Rusting in Peace..

Found this diamond blue Sovereign in a local breakers at the weekend. Whilst sending the details to Paul for the register, I thought it would be interesting to start a thread for 'retired' XJ40's found in scrapyards across the country. Please feel free to add to existing or similar thread if one alr...
