Thanks Larry. Two lines of thought. One leave well alone, the car is not paintwork is not perfect and there are other areas that have priority. Two, have a go at one or two of the larger bubbles and leave the tiny ones. Ultimately, as some point I intend to fit new front wings and full respray. But ...

Couldn’t agree more. Which is why I said it’s been like it for a couple of years. I thought at first I was imagining it, as they eventually go down! I’m very good at applying lacquer, but if I do decide to rectify it will be professionally done.

Actually more linked to clear coat. About 6/7 years ago I purchased a rust free boot and sunroof. I took this to a local jaguar classic workshop for painting and then fitted them to car. After the last two winters, I noticed some ‘bubbling’ of the paint or more likely the lacquer. Very small bubbles...

Thanks Naki. Will taking the rear seat out reveal anything? The ingress is only recent the boot has always been dry. I also wonder if some is condensation, as it some of it is running from behind the boot cover. I have removed the old board and fitted the later version which is covered in a similar ...
